Hello everyone, this is my(and my son) first time trying lake fishing, so any advice will be great. I used to do a fair bit of sea fishing as a kid, plus my dad was a fisherman at the time with his own cobble so we used to be out on the boat quite a bit.
Hopefully we should be fishing your lake with in the next couple of weeks.

Hello and welcome!

I would make sure your using coarse fishing equipment and not sea fishing stuff to start with. As for advice all I can recommend is that you try it a few times to get used to what is coming out and where because no matter what advice is given it's never the same over X amount of days.

Please make sure you ask any questions though that you feel you might benefit from.

Also just make sure you have a read of the main rules / policies over on our CDN.

I have separate gear for coarse fishing and will be adding more over time. I'm just need to sort my rod license, and im waiting on a couple of bits to be delivered then I'm ready.

Yeh - be careful about the rod licence we get checked on both lakes. 🙂

We had 3 day ticket anglers caught last year.

Welcome to HLAC only advise I can add to Andy’s is don’t be afraid to ask, even on the lakes or anywhere. Most anglers don’t mind passing on their knowledge

Anyone fishing on the lake will be able to give you any information regarding baits, methods, pole or waggler fishing.

Thanks lads

It has it's fantastic days and some others not so much, depends what you go for and what bait you use. You kinda need to switch baits throughout the year from maggot, corn, meat, pellets.

You can do really well for silvers on maggots and pellets for carp.
