GD 2x Anglers fined for fish theft

For what you pay for a license it’s not worth not getting one.
You would spend more on a night out.
I know I used to take my son in law occasionally and he said he had a license, I must have taken him a dozen times and one day we fished a very small day ticket pond in Hartlepool. It was that tucked away that hardly anyone knew it was there. Anyway this day a bailiff turned up and guess what he didn’t have a license so his gear was confiscated immediately and he tried to give a false name and the bailiff was having none of it. I also have to add I was checked and rechecked and things got a bit hairy. I was told that I must have known he didn’t have one
He was prosecuted bang £250 fine and £100 costs and total loss of gear all because he wouldn’t pay the price of a license.
He has bought new gear now and he can’t understand why I tell him to get lost and I won’t take him anymore
 
You could ask him for his letter / licence and you can check yourself before allowing him to go with you. I just don't see why people don't get it for the cost of what it is.
 
Well I have to be honest Andy the main reasons that I don’t take him anymore is 1 :- He walked out on my daughter on Christmas Eve (nice eh!)
2 When we used to go before that I used to have to buy all his stuff, I bought his day ticket when we fished Stephensons lake. I had to buy his bait hooks and stuff and never got a penny off him so no more

ah that makes perfect sense. If someone else gets caught after you have told them then there isn't much you can do about it. The club mentions it every so often so people are aware.
 
People always think it won’t happen to them and quite frankly I have no sympathy for them when not if they get caught cos as you said they get warned enough and deserve all they get
